Roof Tile Nests
Wasp Nest Under Roof Tiles
Wasps entering between or beneath roof tiles are a textbook problem on Hertfordshire's older housing stock. We treat at the gap from outside — tiles are never lifted.

How to confirm a tile nest from the ground
Stand 5-10 metres back from the property and watch the roof for 2-3 minutes. A wasp nest under tiles produces a very specific flight pattern: wasps fly directly to one point, disappear into a gap, and exit from the same gap a few seconds later. The traffic is heaviest mid-morning and mid-afternoon at peak season.
How we treat a nest under roof tiles
- We confirm the entry tile gap from the wasp flight path.
- We access the gap from outside via ladder or extension pole depending on the height. Single-storey extensions are usually pole-treated from ground level.
- Insecticide powder is applied at the entry point. Foragers carry the powder into the colony and distribute it within hours.
- Colony inactive within 2-4 hours. The entry point should be quiet by the next morning.
- Free revisit guarantee.
